Our Anniversary Day in Pictures

5.15.2013

Yesterday was Jordan's and my two-year anniversary.

Last year we took a weekend trip to the Oklahoma aquarium in Tulsa and had a grand old time.
This year, since I don't have a full-time job currently, we decided it wouldn't be the best idea to take a trip.

But I still wanted to do something unique to make the day special, so I came up with the brilliant idea of waking up early to get breakfast at Ihop together before work. I only had to work marginally hard to convince him that this was, in fact, a brilliant idea. After breakfast, we parted ways, and later that night I made homemade chicken alfredo and cheered Jordan on at his softball games.

We didn't get each other presents, and we didn't take a trip.
But it was perfect.

Here's what it looked like.

Finally, I ended the day with a book, as all days should end.

And so begins year three.

How do you like to celebrate when you can't do something grand like take a trip?

Free glasses! They look actually pretty cool and that breakfast just looked delicious!

I don't do big celebrations, but I'll let you know if I am ever married.

That looks like the perfect anniversary!! It reminds me of my "honeymoon," which was really just an overnight stay in Santa Fe. When we got to our hotel (which had a nice restaurant) I was so tired that I said, "Jeez, can I just stay in my sweatshirt and jeans? There is no part of me that wants to put on a dress." So down we went to the fancy establishment, in slacker clothing, and ate one of the most fantastic meals I've ever had. It's fun to be casual. It's fun to spend less money. It's fun to be marrrrrried!!! :) Simple is always best, right?

That sounds like a great anniversary day! We like to do small, local stuff like see a show or a game or go out to dinner (if we can't do a big trip). Do you like the Poisonwood Bible? It wasn't my favorite...

How fun! I love this! Going to breakfast is one of my favorite things to do. I would rather go out to breakfast than go to dinner. McKay and I have never done anything big for an anniversary! We always just end up hanging out at home (probably in pajamas!) haha

Happy anniversary! What a lovely little post. :)

I read The Poisonwood Bible as summer reading for AP English (approximately a million years ago, haha) and I loved it. It's amazing. Hope you like it, and hope we get to hear your review!

Oh, and it looks like a wonderful anniversary. As long as you're with the one you love, it always turns out perfect, right?
