That Time My Grandma Went Tubing

7.11.2013

As you may know, I spent five days at the lake at the end of June for a family reunion. We all pretty much wore our swimsuits for five days straight, as evidenced by my grandma and grandpa wearing theirs on our spontaneous trip to the grocery store for jello. (Jello never goes out of style. Don't try to tell me I'm wrong about that.)

Speaking of my grandma, she went tubing. Like, legit the-boat-is-going-fast-and-they're-going-over-waves TUBING. That's all I'm going to say about that.

In other news, my family is incapable of taking a normal picture--aka, not photo bombing my attempt at a cute picture of Jordan. Those turds.

In other other news, Jordan and my ten-year-old cousin Brooke had an informal fishing competition, which basically involved seeing who could catch the most fish over the week between the two of them, since they're the only people who spent any time fishing.

Jordan made a solid attempt but ending up losing a whopping 5 to 18. At one point Jordan put his pole down and dedicated his time to helping Brooke take her catfish off the line. I watched her put that hook into the water and literally get a bite within 15 seconds. He didn't have a chance. (They threw all the fish back.)

There was also the mega hammock, which was terrifying and genius all in one. I kept hitting my head on my brother's butt every time I sat up, but, um, HELLO. Mega hammock? Worth it.

We also played bags. A lot. On Tuesday we played all day until the sun went down. My dad and Uncle Rick won 22 games in a row and declared themselves champions. They are currently trying to get Nike sponsorships.

Ah, the agony of defeat.
 I LOVE CANDIDS!
Ahem.

And besides the jet skis and the kayaks and the book reading, we ate.
Sweet home cookin' at the lake. Lord have mercy.

That looks like the BEST week ever! Seriously, can I be invited next time :) Your grandma is awesome by the way, I went tubing last week for the first time in years, and it's no joke! Love your photos, especially the one of your cousin and the fishing pole from above. It looks like such a blast.
