Read This if You Don't Want a Jiggly Butt

9.12.2013

First things first.

Raise your hand if you clicked on this post based on the title alone.

Admit it. Don't even try to lie. It's all part of my brilliant plan to get you to read my blog even if it's a post you would normally skip. >insert evil laugh here<

Okay, so now that you're here.... I really do want to talk about jiggly butts. Why? Because don't we all want a firm, squeezable butt? Answer = yes. Especially because fall is coming, and I want my butt to look good in my apple-bottom jeans.

Then the question becomes: how you get such a butt?
By exercising! Duh. Come on, people.

Butt let's be honest. (See what I did there?) Running and the gym and all that stuff is great, but I knew there had to be a way to get my butt, hips, and thigh toning on without actually leaving my house or changing out of my sweatpants.

Enter: exercise bands.

I've been on the hunt for exercise bands for a while now. And by on the hunt, I mean I've thought about getting some but never actually gone and looked for any. So you can imagine how excited I was when I was contacted by Wacces.com to review a set of exercise bands.

I said yes, of course, and a short few days later, a package arrived in my mail with this set of 4 exercise bands. You guys. These are so awesome! If I didn't get them for free, I would have totally bought them anyway, because they're that great.

All are made from natural rubber latex, and each one is a different resistance: light (red), low (yellow), medium (green), and heavy (gray). So if you're wanting a tougher workout, use the gray band. For a lighter resistance, use the red.

The best part is, they're only $10 for a set of 4.
Seriously, 4 bands for $10? Yes, please.

There are a bunch of awesome exercises you can do with exercise bands. I have some pinned to my "Fitness" board on Pinterest. Just think about it. If you had an exercise band, you could be like this guy:

**Wacces is hosting weekly giveaways on their blog all month long for a band in the resistance of your choice. Enter here for your chance to win!**

I'm also giving away one band from my set!

All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post saying something like, "I want it!" or "I've eaten 20 Oreos today!", and I'll put your name in the hat for a chance to win the yellow band (that's the #2 resistance). Winner will be chosen via hat drawing on Monday, September 16.

UPDATE: A winner has been chosen! Congratulations to CeCe!

*I was given a free set of Wacces bands to review, but all opinions are my own.

I'm 40. Just wait until you see what 40 years does to a butt. TMI? Maybe. But I'd like these bands!

I'm not sure if it's me or the 4 pieces of pizza I just ate.. but I think I NEED these. ;)

Whoever invented doughnut holes is both my best friend and my worst enemy. I think an exercise band might do me some good.

*Raises hand

I just ate some pizza with creamy pesto sauce....soooo yeah... I need these

*Also, do these bands make me run fast like The Lady Okie? :)

I'd love one, but if I win I'm gonna have a hard time keeping it away from Quinn. Exercising mostly has to be done while she's sleeping because she wants to join in.

I love that the giveaway is via a hat =) ... I'm not bashing on bands by asking this question in any way shape or form ... but have you tried crossfit? They use bands there, plus you are a runner and I'm a runner and crossfit helps running and is fun

I want one, any one would be great. That is all. Hope I win now. :)

Um, you're awesome lady. Have I mentioned that I cannot run to save my life and hate the gym? I NEED these. My butt is frumpy these days haha! Too much sitting and studying I guess ;)

I clicked on this because I was stuffing my face with queso at the moment and thought, "hmm, I will probably need that after I'm done with this."

Sarah said...

I like the idea of these!! We have the other type of bands and I'm always scared to use them because I've had a few break in my face...not a fun way to work out!

I need those real bad. Like, I just had Sour Patch Kids and Dr. Pepper for breakfast, and I'm gonna die of malnutrition if I don't do something to combat my horrible eating habits. So, if I don't win these, my future diabetes and general poor health are all on you.

Hey Amanda - thanks for stopping by my blog! I hadn't thought about resistance bands in a long, long time - they are the devil but they make it hurt so good.

For some reason I can't stop laughing at the picture of the guy using that band. It just looks too funny. Have a great weekend Amanda!

oh my gosh.
I'm doing this "blog pal" thing, and the blogger I'm teamed up with and I have been given topics to blog about once a week.. One of ours for next week was 'fitness' and I made sure to email her early to say ANYTHING BUT FITNESS ANYTHING BUT FITNESS!

what an embarassing blog post that will be.

No, no, I think I'll just go to work and eat more cupcakes.

however.. if I WON something... maybe i'd have something to blog about next time, instead of wondering how many calories it burns lifting that cupcake to my face. and chewing. sometimes my jaw starts to hurt I chew so much. That's gotta count too right?

best looking jaw line you've seen. I betcha.

I have a blue band. I suppose I could use a yellow one. And I'm eating popcorn.

I've never even heard of these! I definitely have to try them out because my jiggly bum needs all the help it can get!
Ok, to be honest? My butt has the most muscle it's ever had! Having a baby motivated me to work out more than ever! But I just know that once winter rolls around and I can't run and hike and workout outside? I'm going to sit around and eat donuts all day and my butt will go to you know where (again)!

You had me at jiggly butt...haha.

Um. I haven't exercised since the school year started back up (read: beginning of July). Apparently, I can only handle working out during the summer when I'm bored to tears and look a little scary in a bathing suit!

Anonymous said...

I would use this all the time if I had one! I live in a small apartment and struggle with wanting to exercise, but I know I would use!! I would love to have one!

Two babies- I really need to potty train but don't have the energy. Running is great but why does it take so much effort to get two kids out the door and in the stroller? (OK, it always seems harder than it really is. Kinda like putting on workout clothes and sneakers to go to the gym always sounds harder than it is) Anyhow, bands in the house would be money.

Tamara said...

I want it!

Hair ties are terrible resistance bands whenever you have giant size 11 feet. But are great for your toe workouts.
