For My Runner Friends: A Giveaway of Sorts

1.08.2014

***UPDATE***
giveaway is now closed!

I was going through my enormous stack of papers, trying to sort and recycle and all that, and I had a brainstorm. I've been getting Runner's World magazine for almost an entire year now, and I love it! It's one magazine where I read every single page, even the advertisements, because they are all exercise related.

Instead of recycling my 12 issues from last year, I thought I would instead send them to you!

HOW IT WORKS
If you're interested in receiving a single issue from 2013 Runner's World magazine, leave a comment on this post telling me one of your 2014 fitness goals. Or, you know, just say something like, "I want a magazine!" I'm not a stickler for giveaway rules.

***PLEASE make sure you leave me an email address with your comment. If I can't find you, then I can't tell you that you've won!

After a week or so, I will choose 12 people, email you for your address, and then throughout the year I will mail you that month's issue. So if you're chosen for August, say, you will get a package from me in August! If you're chosen for January, I will mail yours this month!

Along with that month's Runner's World, I will also burn you a CD of my favorite running songs, and I'll mail them both with a special note from me to you!

A few notes:
-If you already receive Runner's World but want a CD, you can still enter! Just let me know you don't want to magazine.
-I won't share your address with anyone, and I'm not a stalker, so don't worry. Let's just say I won't stalk you if you don't stalk me. (My mother is having a heart attack right now.)
-I started receiving the magazine in March 2013, so January and February issues will actually be the 2014 issues after I've finished reading them.
-If less than 12 people enter, then I won't have to choose, and everyone will get a package!

I hope that all made sense, and I also hope this isn't the worse idea ever. Some of my brainstorms can be quite terrible.

Let me know if you have any questions!
And if you're new here and haven't yet, be sure and check out my "how to start running" series.

So cool! I love runners world magazine... But does it matter that I live on the other side of the world?? Probably cheaper for me to just go and buy one :)

This is so neat of you to do! I am running my first half marathon in March! I've been training for 2 months and have just under 2 months of training to go. It's been a great experience, and I have loved reading your posts about your marathons and half marathons!

Pick me! I'm running my first half this year (with the help from your email, of course!) and I'm still trying to figure out my running style/motivation/training program and pretty much everything else. Also, I would cherish a new running mix. Mine is actually too fast, so I find that I'm burnt out by the time I hit mile two.

My 2014 goal: run 650 miles and the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler in April. This will be my longest race to date!

One of my goals is to be able to run a 5k nonstop. I'm up to 2 miles and am still working on it but am realizing that this is much more difficult than I thought it'd be! Maybe one day I will do a half but for now, I'm still small fries :)

One of my goals this year is to run a 10k this summer! I have signed up for a 5k in the spring hoping that will increase my motivation! A Runner's Magazine may be the extra boost of motivation I need :)

This is a great idea! I would love to win! I am going to attempt to qualify for the NYC Marathon by running 9 NYRR races and volunteering at 1 of them. This is the best way for me to be able to have a shot at running the NYC Marathon again in 2015 and improving on my time from last year! Would definitely make good use of the magazine and running mix!! I'm always looking for new songs to get me going out there :)

How nice of you to send your readers goodies! One of my goals this year is to expand my fitness routines by doing different types of workouts like yoga, hiking, weight lifting, etc. I still really enjoy running and I don't ever want to get bored of it.

I love a giveaway! This year, my goal is to run two half marathons. One is a trail race in June, the second being the St. Louis Rock n'Roll half in October. Also, I would love some new tunes to run to. afe2afs@gmail.com

Dude. This is a great idea! I think you already know my big goal -- marathon in April! -- but I'm also hoping to PR in a race distance I've already done.

I'd love to have a magazine! (And I'd love to hear your running mix to see how it compares to mine!) One of my resolutions this year is to (after having baby #2 in May) run 2 races before the year is over. :)

I love your blog and am so glad I found it. I would love to have a magazine and the CD. It is so hard to find a running mix that I like. My goal for 2014 is to move from a 5K to a 10K. I didn't take my first running step until I was 53 so it has been quite a battle but I am winning so far! Thanks for your regular motivational blogs!

Great idea! Would love the CD!

I think this is a GREAT idea....I don't want to win because I'm not a runner. I just wanted to tell you it was an awesome idea to recycle and make someone else a happy runner!

Kaysie said...

oh oh oh oh (how do I beg you without begging you?) This year, I've committed to become a runner. I'm starting to see the effects of not moving (everyone told me it would happen someday) My husband is runna, so it would be awesome to run a race together. I would like some reads and some tunes. Also, this is a great idea. I might do something with books? Or something. No.

Erika Lee @ A Tiny Rocket said...

I want to do a 5k and my even bigger goal is to like to run. :) I know it sounds silly but I want to get rid of those I can't do it thoughts with running and replace them with can.

Unknown said...

I love this idea! I recently discovered your blog and I'm so glad I did.
Goal: to be able to run 20 to 25 miles each week. I have asthma and secondary adrenal insufficiency so I'm learning to live (and RUN) with my new norm. Also, would love to hear your running mix.

I would love a magazine! I ran my first half marathon last year, and while I don't have any big time race goals this year, my goals are to improve my pace and continue to learn to love running (I love it while/after I run but still find it too easy to get out of the habit). Your how to start running series has really helped me also, so I'm definitely looking forward to more running posts :).

I'm attempting a 5K in April and could so use some music plus a magazine for inspiration! Pick me. Hope I win :)

This year I want to keep up with my running and try to finish the couch to 10k program. I finished the C25k part this fall but between college, work, and getting sick I've slacked on keeping up.

Joy @ TheJoyOfHope21.blogpot.com said...

My goals for 2014 are just to be more active in general. With my work scheduled filled to the max and the winter weather rotting the motivation to run outside, I've had to be more creative in how I will be active, but it's a fun challenge to walk loops around my school, do some workplace workouts and try to take opportunties to get active with friends.

I enjoy reading your blog and as a newbie runner, I appreciated your How to Start Running series. Keep up the good word!
