1/12

2.04.2014

I've seen this floating around the blog world: Project 52. A photo of your child/children once a week, all year. It's a fun idea, but obviously it's hard to take a photo a week of your children when you don't have any.

So I said to heck with that! I'm starting my own Project 12. A photo with my boy on the first day of every month in 2014.

Because time is fleeting, and as cheesy as it sounds, these are the days. We both have good jobs, are able to save a nice chunk of money every month, and have very little responsibility with no kids or pets to wrangle. Yes, I hate that we still live in this apartment, but okay. Accept it and focus on the fact that I can eat ice cream for dinner if I want to. Amen.

We're both healthy, we're in love, and while everything's not perfect, I really can't complain. I do complain more often than I'd like, but I shouldn't. So, in 2014 I will be posting a short recap of our month along with that month's first-day picture. I know this won't interest most of you, but to that I say too bad. Sorry not sorry and all that business.

Read
Amanda = 3 books | Jordan = 3 books
[After three years, I finally convinced Jordan to sign up for Goodreads and keep track of his books!]

Traveled
Nowhere
(Although my mom came and visited Jan 19-20)

Dates
Jan. 10--Hensley's Top Shelf Grill
(Yes, only one official date. We're not so much weekly date night people, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.)

Notable Events
Jordan was sick with the stomach bug Jan 28-30
We both got our passports, and it only took 2 weeks!

Oh, this is a cute idea! We don't go on weekly dates either, though they've been kind of few and far between lately. :( And now I'm going to feel like a stalker using Jordan's Goodreads to add you. lol

Love this. And: "Accept it and focus on the fact that I can eat ice cream for dinner if I want to." I think this whenever I get overwhelmed. Last week, I had mac and cheese three meals in a row. Owning adult life over here.

Oh you trailblazer you. Love this idea. It's so easy to forget to take pics together now, but just as important!

me likey! i haven't read any single book since last november. i think. i can't even remember the last time i read a novel.

I love this! What a fun way to track your life.

Girl - count your blessings in an apartment. I know, I know, they aren't always fun ... but you don't have to do yard work, pay for tons of 'house' expenses, etc. You'll get your house in due time and it will be grand.

So well said and I love your pic. I have been doin' the photo challenge but since I don't have kids I turned mine into series

You go girl! Great idea, love it. Such a cute picture of you two!
Ice cream for dinner is a perfectly acceptable dinner choice in my book. Keep enjoying it!

Such a really great idea! I love the idea of specifically taking a pic with your hubs every month too. :)

I also got Fredrik to start using Goodreads and it makes me way more excited than it probably should but I love book tracking so much!

I think this is a great idea! I take pictures of my daughter every day but I wish I had more pictures of my husband and I together.

Goodreads is the bomb.com! Actually, it's goodreads.com. But it is undoubtedly, fantastic! I can't believe it only took you 2 weeks to get passports-guess we may be seeing something under that travel section soon ??? By the way, I love that you have come up with this idea of your own! :)

I just got my passport updated with my married name. They were super fast!

I love this idea!!! Think if you do that for the rest of your days together, how fun it will be to look back! :) yay!

I'm pretty sure there is no way I'd manage to keep up with "Project 52" - I'd end up taking 20 pictures at a time and totally defeat the purpose. Project 12 sounds like a great idea, though! I might have to steal this idea :)

this is awesome!!! i may just steal this/join project 12! :)

I love this idea! I think taking a picture with your husband is such a great idea. I was just reflecting the other day that Eric and I don't have any recent pictures together. And this first picture of you two is beautiful! I will be interested in these posts. Just sayin'.

This was a ridiculously cute post. Way to make your own project, and I think it's brilliant. :) Being a no-weekly-date couple, we definitely agree with nothing wrong with that. We're lucky if we get a bi-monthly date, as far as official date go. Unofficial ones consist of cleaning out the car together, frozen pizza and The Big Bang Theory. When you're dating all the time, it's a cheap date all the time. :)

This is a great idea! Way to get creative ;) It will be a perfect way to look back throughout the year too!

I like that idea!! Sometimes you have to really be intentional with it just to remember to take pictures! Just this weekend I realize that Angel and I did not yet have a picture together in 2014 so we took a picture while we were out in the snow.
Yay for passports!
