R's Pink & Gold First Birthday Party

8.17.2016

On August 6th we celebrated Miss R turning one! As I mentioned in a previous post, I did not originally have a theme planned. I walked around Hobby Lobby grabbing things I thought were cute, and when I came home I realized it was mainly pink and gold stuff. I searched Pinterest for "pink and gold first birthday" and realized that is a theme! I did Pinterest before Pinterest was cool, y'all.

My mom, brother, and sister-in-law came up a day early and helped me set up for the party, and I absolutely love how it turned out! I borrowed some decorations from a friend, made some stuff myself, and used things I already had around the house, so in total I spent maybe $40 on party decorations, which is pretty good!

First, I will share my inspiration from my one-year birthday Pinterest board, and then I'll share some pictures of how my inspiration came to life at the party!
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

I love how it all turned out. I feel like everything came to life just how I envisioned it, and it was cute and fun but not involved enough that I felt like there were a crazy amount of decorations to set up. I'm excited to share more about R's party, including cake eating pictures and maybe a video soon! If you have any questions about how I put anything together, feel free to let me know in the comments or shoot me an email.

Awwwwww I love all of your pins and your stuff looks even better!!! Everything turned out so awesome! Pink and gold is the theme for my nursery, so I might be biased. Happy birthday R!!!

The decorations look amazing! I love how they're fun, elegant, and not overdone. The cake is really cool, too!

Wow! You did a fantastic job -- this looks like a professional did it! It looks like tons of fun, too. I especially love the chart you made with all of R's milestones. You rock! Pink and gold were our wedding colors so I am also a bit biased that that is a great theme.

It looks like a beautiful birthday party. I especially love the mantle with the R and the photos, as well as her monthly photo banners. Can you tell I love photos?

Rach said...

I love it all! But especially the monthly photos displayed all together like that. SO cute! Happy first birthday, R!

Ha! Thanks so much :) That cake is funny... I intended for it to be decorated all down the side but it started falling down and was a hot mess so I flattened it out and just did the top. I thought it turned out okay!

Thank you thank you! I love how it all turned out.

I read your blog but never commented, always wondered about your daughter's name, I guessed it was Rachel, but thought to let you know her name is on the one photo with the high-chair, just it case you want to remove that photo...

Thank you :) I did see that later but figured it's been a year. I'll go ahead and throw a bone out for all the hard core R fans. Lol! Thanks for reading and for the comment!

That tissue paper covered 1 is so cute, I'm going to have to remember that for future use. Party looked good and R looked happy, so what more can you ask for?

What a sweet party! And I love the color scheme. Can't go wrong with gold AND glitter. :)

I love your pink and gold theme!!!! Everything turned out so well!!!!! Your mantel, with all of the different pictures of her (and that DIY R that you didn't give up on) is my favorite thing. I love the idea of doing that and if I'm honest...It would probably stay up there for a good 6 months if I was keeping your house! ;)

Happy Birthday to her and Happy BIRTH-Day to you too!!!! What a year it has been. :)

Wow! You did an awesome job on the decorations! Love the pink and gold, and the frosting on that cake looks *so* good! It's a wonder everyone resisted the urge to sample it before photos were taken (I don't see any fingerprints)! Happy birthday to R!
