What's New

9.01.2016

TODAY IS THURSDAY. You don't know how excited I am about this. I thought Monday was Thursday, if that tells you anything about how my week has been. One word: slow. Another word: tired.

Speaking of tired, I should be sleeping right now, not writing this post. Anyway.
I'm linking up with Shay and also Kristen for a quick life update!

What We Are Eating
Last week I was eating that bbq jalapeƱo chicken pizza up there from one of my favorite downtown OKC lunch spots. I don't even like jalapeƱos, but I looooove this pizza.

On the home front, last night (Wednesday), we had leftover baked ziti and leftover tacos from Monday and Tuesday. I had some interest based on my grocery budgeting post to share what we eat during the week, so in September I plan on keeping track so I can share our meals with you!

What I'm Loving
This post. Amen.

What I'm Dreading
The Toddler Years. I have no doubt R's meltdowns are going to be epic, and I'm already dreading it. (But I'm only dreading the meltdowns, of course. I am SO excited to continue to watch her grow and learn and be as cute as ever!)

What I'm Working On
A new blog reader survey.
A post about how marriage has been this past year.
^^^ Also, last week I was working on this gift for my sister-in-law. It's her first year as a teacher, and I made this to hang in her second-grade classroom. I put the R in a shadow box and wrote her last name underneath. I thought it turned out really good!

What I'm Excited About
Girls' trip (with R!) to Saint Louis in just three weeks! Taking my baby girl on plane ride #10 with some Southwest points I had saved up.

What I'm Watching
Nothing at the moment! We don't have cable, and honestly I am just not into watching a weekly show. I don't have the ability to be that committed to anything right now. We watch The Office on Netflix sometimes, but this week we really haven't had the TV on very much at all.

What I'm Listening To
I switch between KLOVE (no shame!) and country for my daily commute. I have a Bethel music CD in my car too that I love.

What I'm Wearing
Yesterday I rocked my rain boots because we had some thunderstorms. Best $20 I ever spent. Love those boots.

What I'm Doing This Weekend
Going to a 2-year-old's birthday party on Saturday and hopefully not a heck of a lot else on this three-day weekend. Taking naps as often as possible! Please and thank you.

What are you currently loving? What are you eating? What are you working on?

Put jalapenos on anything and I will eat it. That pizza looks deeelicious! Love that crayon craft! So cute. Good for you and your craftiness. I can not finish a DIY project or craft to save my life.

The crafty crayon R is awesome! You did a great job with that - it turned out really well.

That pizza is making me drool at my desk. My word. That gift you made for your sister-in-law is so cute! I want one and I'm not even a teacher!

I saw that crayon "R" on your FB page...so impressed! Pretty sure I ordered one of those from Etsy for my SIL on her first day of teaching. Love your crafty skills! Please please please let me also squeeze in just one nap this holiday weekend! :)

Lol did you say "no shame" after KLOVE because it can be a little cheesy? I love the station, but I do get slightly irritated that they don't play much variety. I can pretty much tell you every song they'll play on my car ride to work. BUT its definitely better than listening to the other stations in my town talk about cheating, sex and drugs, ha!

In other news I'm drooling at your pizza picture. Holy. Cheese! YUM! I love the way the crayon "R" turned out. How adorable?! You're so crafty!

Wow, that crayon R turned out awesome!!

That "R" is awesome! You've definitely been bit by the craft-bug!
I need some new rain boots! Mine got a hole in them and obviously aren't very effective anymore... haha!

Rain boots are the best! It's almost flood season there, right? (Have I mentioned I went to college in OK?)

Jalapenos on pizza might be the most genius idea I've seen recently. I don't know why I've never thought to do that but I LOVE jalapenos.

Cute crayon letter!!

That crayon craft is so adorable. I'm not even a teacher and I want to make one for myself haha! Enjoy your weekend and hope you can relax some!

i am with you on weekly shows. i've never been one to tune into shows at a certain time, but i used to watch them online the day after they came out (i was at home anyway so i couldn't watch them until they became available online) but even before the internet, i was more of a record it and watch it later (on the vcr, not on the dvr lol).
love that crayon craft! so cute. and i am so nosy about what people eat so i am glad you're keeping track. i don't like jalapeƱos AT ALL but that pizza looks ahhhmazing. and also, can't wait to read your post about your marriage this past year. it is something i am super interested in.... well not your marriage, but you know. i sound like a creep and should stop :) thanks for linking up with us!

That pizza looks amazing! Have a blast in St. Louis, I'm jealous!

I look forward to reading about marriage and meals in upcoming posts! That pizza sure does look yummy! And good luck with those toddler years coming up. ;)

That post about the working mom and stay at home and jealousy was so good! I'm glad someone posts stuff like that because I am sure it is helpful to Moms.

Rain boots are amazing. I bought a pair at TJMaxx and I purchased a pair in Korea. I love them both. Well, I love my Korea ones a little less because I had to wear them when I cleaned the sewer from our basement and I don't want to touch them again....

That pizza looks so amazingly wonderful.

I've been all about them naps these days. Give me all the sleep please and thank you!

I can't wait to read more of your posts that you have coming up :)

Having a weekly show definitely takes commitment. The only show I tend to actually follow is Once Upon a Time and it hasn't started yet for the year, so, no commitment. That's good. haha!
R is sure one well-traveled little girl!
