This is my fifth year to do a year in numbers! I started in 2013 and have tried to track basically the same things. It's so interesting to compare year to year. Here is my 2017 in numbers.

Thank you to all who followed along with The Lady Okie in 2017! I felt like it was a pretty good year for me. Of course adding J to our family is THE highlight of our year. If you missed his birth story, you can start here with Part 1.
I posted a lot of feelings this past year about motherhood and pregnancy and working motherhood. Sometimes I get embarrassed to think that I'm sharing so many personal feelings in this online space, but hopefully my posts can be an encouragement or help to some of you. That said, I try to not be dramatic and emotional all the time. My confession session posts are always big hits!
I'm not going to share a list of favorite posts from last year, but I've tried to make it easy to search this blog by topics across the top menu and also with tags at the bottom of my posts, so feel free to click around any time.

Have a wonderful and restful weekend. Cheers to more numbers in 2018!
Fun list, as always! I think it's always fun/fascinating to see all that can happen in a year, and it looks like you guys have had a busy one. Happy 2018 to you!
This is a fun way to track your year! Thanks for sharing all of the books too. I'm going to have to look at some for my reading list.
What a cool way to go through your year!
I love that you track your year like this. It's really creative and comprehensive! 0 plane rides is kind of funny. Did you fly a lot with R in 2016? Lol. I'm planning to read Dead Wake soon!
Love the numbers ... I am a total stats nerd and appreciate you sharing all of these details. I definitely appreciate your being open about all of the details because if your blog wasn't personal I probably wouldn't relate as much or want to read. Relatability = interest and following.
Looks like a great year. And your last comment reminds me of a meme I recently saw. I could describe it but you really should just see it yourself: https://me.me/i/19407597
I am envious of your grocery budget! We're only a family of four but I spend that in more like two weeks. Would love to see some of your tips on that. I've never heard of Dark Matter, but will have to check it out. As for rereads, do you normally do that? I can't understand why people reread lol. My to read list is soooooo long, who has time to reread haha?!
I love that you shared this! Here is to an awesome 2018!
Happy New Year! Your Texas trip count is so consistent, haha! I imagine you guys are probably going for pretty similar occasions each year. I was also in three US States in 2017 which is an unusually high number for me... :P I should try to keep track of how many races Angel does in a year...
I actually do reread books a lot! Just not this year :) But I have some books and series that I just love and reread every few years or so.
Also, I have a few posts about grocery budgeting that you can check out if you want. Just go here: http://www.theladyokieblog.com/p/budgeting-tips.html I hope that helps give you some ideas!
Thanks so much, Jen! Same to you!
We do generally go to Texas for some of the same things (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.) but it's also pretty random when we go, so it's so funny that we have gone the same number of times so often! 3 US States is a lot for you! That's fun :)
Awesome! Thanks, Maureen :)
I loved the book Dark Matter! That book did not get as much attention as it should have, it was one of my favorite reads recently.
I always love your By the Numbers yearly post! It's fun to see your highlight reel from the year. :) I love that you've been to Texas the exact same number of times so many years in a row. :)
I agree it was really good!
