Easy Crockpot BBQ Chicken

5.07.2013

You are welcome for this recipe.

This is the jackpot of easy crockpot meals. I think I found it online somewhere a year or two ago (not sure where or I'd give credit), and I tried it, and it's SO GOOD.

I love using the crockpot. What I don't love is when you find a CP recipe that looks delicious, but there are a bunch of steps to do before you can even put the food in! Brown the hamburger meat, brown the chicken, mix 18 ingredients while balancing on your left foot, etc.

That's why I absolutely l.o.v.e this recipe for BBQ chicken. It's so easy, you can put it together in 5 minutes, and it uses ingredients you probably already have on hand.

The other reason this recipe is great is that it's perfect for a crowd or just 1-2 people. Most recently I made this for Jordan and I, and I just didn't put in as many chicken breasts as I would have if I were serving it to 4+ people. With 4 chicken breasts, this made enough for about 8 sandwiches, so we ate it a few times that week. (Okay, we're still eating it. But I'm not over it yet, because it's that good.)

Ingredients:
4-6 frozen, skinless chicken breasts
(use 4 if serving for 2-3 people; 6 if serving 4+)
1 (12 oz) bottle BBQ sauce (just choose your favorite kind!)
1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 T. Worcestershire sauce

>Place chicken in slow cooker. Frozen. Boom.
(Or fresh and unfrozen; it just won't take as long to cook.)

>Mix other ingredients and add to slow cooker.

>Cover & cook 3-4 hours on HIGH or 6-8 hours on LOW.

>Shred chicken with 1 hour left. Serve on hoagie rolls or hamburger buns.

Other notes:
If necessary, you can add 1 T. flour to the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.

See? Wasn't that easy? You're welcome.

What Pinners Are Saying:

"Normally I stray from meat only dishes, but this was SUPER simple and easy. I added a can of BBQ beans and would definitely recommend that, as it made the texture perfect. Serve it with a broccoli salad and you have a yummy meal."

"Currently in the crock pot. Smells great!"

"We had this for dinner tonight and it was seriously the easiest and tastiest thing I've ever made. My daughter even licked the plate!"

This sounds fantastic. I totally agree with you on steps before putting everything in the crock pot. The whole point is to NOT have to do all that.

I love a quick and easy crockpot recipe. Totally agree, it defeats the purpose if it has a bunch of steps! Can I just say I love Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. I usually go with the Honey BBQ but you can't go wrong with that brand!
