linking up with anne today!

packing
More like unpacking our bags from this weekend when we were in Texas. You know those people who travel around Europe for 3 months with just a 2 shirts, a pair of pants, and 4 pairs of socks? I am not those people. I go to my parents' house for one day and bring half my closet. They live down the street from a Target, in case you were wondering, so it's not like I'm heading out into the wilderness. I have problems.

jonesing

Good grief. I had to look this word up to make sure I was writing about the correct thing. Spoiler alert: I wasn't. I'M OLD SEND HELP.

So anyway, jonesing. I wouldn't call this a pregnancy craving exactly, but I legitimately want to eat pizza or Mexican food every single day. Jordan has to talk me off the takeout ledge and he's losing his willpower, which might be good for me but bad for our budget. Last month we had a cash flow problem. The problem being that cash was flowing, just not in the right direction.

texting

All my friends and family about our baby BOY. Yes we have a name. No I won't tell you. I'm locked down like a steel trap, baby.

reading

I read FIVE books in January like a crazy person, and I'll have a book review roundup post coming at you soon! Follow me on Goodreads if you want my reviews in real time.

hearting

I started watching The Crown on Netflix a few days ago, and I was sort of only half paying attention because I was also editing some photos. I thought the show was great, but I ended the first episode feeling confused. Part of the reason is because I'm not that great with history stuff. I convinced Jordan to rewatch the first episode with me, and he explained everything as it went along and knew about all the different historical references and people. One of the things I love about Jordan is how smart he is! He reads a lot and knows a ton about history, and I think it's really cool.

I hope you all have a great Wednesday! Is it just me or does it feel like it should be Friday already? I swear yesterday was Thursday. This week is weird.

I am the same way with packing. I take half my closet but yet always get there and realize I forgot something important. Every time!

My boyfriend lives 9 hours away from me and when I visit I'm usually there for around 4 days but probably pack enough clothes to last me two weeks - a light packer I am not!

I think I need to sign up for Goodreads just for the reviews - picking books to add to my reading pile is so hard!

Haha, I could NOT do mexican food while pregnant. Which was a great thing for our budget ;) However- pizza ALWAYS sounded good, but that's nothing new. I always think Jordan and Jared have so much in common anytime you mention little tidbits about him... Jared is a total history buff and teaches me stuff all the time. Are you guys keeping the name a secret from everyone until he's born? Or just secret from the blog like R?

Oooh, I can't wait to find out the baby's name! We had such a hard time coming up with Caleb's name.

Dumb question, but are these prompts posted in advance anywhere? Lol. I think I want to link up some time!

OMG Mexican Food and Pizza sound so good. You lost me there. :)

So we are those people who pack with a ridiculously small amount for huge overseas trips, BUT! If we are just going to visit family for the weekend we bring everything we own. It's something about driving versus flying. I hate checking bags on flights so if we're flying, we're taking carry ons (no matter how long the trip is). But if we're driving... even just for a weekend trip... we bring ALL THE THINGS. So I hear you on that.

Oh hooray for having a baby name!! I look forward to hearing it and hearing how you chose it! How exciting!

Are those the magic pants I spy in that mirror photo? Breaking them out for pregnancy number two, atta girl!

So excited that you guys have chosen a name for your little BOY! It is so fun to call him by name, right?

Baby boy! How exciting. And those sound like the kind of "cravings" that I wasn't sure I could ever actually attribute to pregnancy. Kind of like ice cream - I just always want it, no matter what :)

I'm so with you. I feel like today should have been Friday. I had a conference call and at the end one of the other callers said, "Alright, have a good weekend!" And then he said "Ohhh sorry, I just feel like it is Friday!" So it's not just you!! :)

My parents live one mile away and every time I go I bring my slippers. Matt thinks it is so weird but I like to be comfy when I'm there! I should just leave a pair there!

Hopefully it's not another R name, or things are about to get real confusing on this blog!

My sister is really good with history too - she was a history major, so maybe I should make her re-watch The Crown whenever I have time to watch. She's loving it though!

Aw, congrats on having a boy!

I'm with you on packing. I bring so much because I don't want to miss things or be stuck having to buy things once I get there.

Congrats on the baby boy! Oh man, I craved Mexican like no other while I was pregnant with my daughter. I could have eaten it all day, every meal. Yum. I started the Crown too, but let's be honest, once the kiddo has gone to bed, it's almost impossible to stay awake for longer than five minutes. :) Thanks for linking up!

Angel and I are totally minimalist packers...when we recently went to a conference with my parents I rolled my eyes at them since they paid for checked luggage while we did carry-on only as usual. Granted, on a car trip we're more lax about bringing extra stuff just for fun.
I laughed when you were talking about appreciating Jordan's history nerd tendencies...because in our marriage, I'm the nerd with fact-storage capabilities for every random topic. Like I'll just bring up Confucius or Lao Ze or the history of cricket in India whenever it connects to the conversation, only afterwards realizing that that's not a normal thing to do and I must repress the random fact generator. haha!

I was thinking about starting The Crown as my next binge, but I am not that great with history either so I wonder if I will be lost. I pack so much stuff when I go places too!!

I NEED to start watching The Crown! It's not something K would like and we're leaving together for a business trip on Tues. Originally he was traveling by himself so I could've had the whole week to binge. *sigh* Lol
My best friend gave birth to a baby boy on Friday and they named him Tobin Alan :)

I love a good currently post!!!

I'm not those people either. I've tried...but, it's HARD. I mean...What if I don't feel like wearing ____? Or what if it's just way too cold? Or too hot?

I need to know what you thought jonesing was and what is actually is. I thought it was an old word that played off of "keeping up with the Jonses" ie coveting. LOL! Although, I've never put it down as coveting before, but that's basically the word that came to mind now and it fits. So.....

Yay for having a name!!!! I can't wait to hear it, but I'm 110% okay with you keeping it until you're ready to share. Seriously...I think you're EARNING that right!

You DID get some reading DONE in January!!! I'm seriously amazed with all that you accomplish. Especially reading.

I need you to have Jordan create a list of "so you want to get smart by reading solid non-ficition" book picks! I'm always over in the non-fiction section picking up poetry and cookbooks and essays and biographies...but everything else is soooo daunting. Plus, what if it's not even a good/accurate book? How will I even know? Watching The Crown with him giving a commentary sounds great! Now...Get to work on that post!
